2. Scope
- These Terms and Conditions apply to all distance sales contracts concluded via the online shops www.kaito.hu and www.kaito.eu (the “shop”).
- The shop is available in Hungarian, German and English. The contract is concluded in the language used by the buyer when ordering; in case of discrepancies the Hungarian version prevails, applying the interpretation more favourable to the consumer.
- The contract is concluded electronically, is not a written contract and is not filed separately by the Seller; the contract details are contained in the order confirmation e-mail. The Seller has not subscribed to any code of conduct.
- A consumer is a natural person acting outside their trade, business or profession. Rights reserved for consumers (e.g. the right of withdrawal) are marked separately in these terms.
3. Products and prices
- The main characteristics of the products are set out on the product pages. Product photos are illustrations; the technical data are authoritative.
- All prices shown are gross prices including the applicable VAT. Shipping costs are set out in the Shipping policy and are shown separately at checkout before you place your order.
- The base currency is the Hungarian forint (HUF). Prices shown in euros (EUR) are converted at the official exchange rate of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB); the total shown when ordering is authoritative.
- If a price is obviously wrong (e.g. HUF 0 or significantly different from the market price), the Seller is not obliged to deliver at that price; it will offer delivery at the correct price, and the buyer may then cancel the order free of charge.
- Some products (e.g. emergency lighting) are sourced by the Seller on order; the expected delivery time is shown on the product page or in the confirmation.
4. Ordering process and conclusion of the contract
- Select the product and quantity and add it to the cart.
- In the cart you can check and change the contents and continue via “Check out”.
- At checkout, as a guest or with a customer account, enter your e-mail address, billing and shipping address and choose the shipping and payment method. For business purchases, please enter the company name and VAT number.
- You can correct input errors at any time before submitting the order; checkout shows a summary of products, shipping cost and total before submission.
- The order is placed with the button indicating an obligation to pay (“Pay now” / “Complete order”).
- The Seller acknowledges receipt of the order without delay by automatic e-mail. The contract is concluded with this confirmation. If the confirmation does not arrive within 48 hours, the buyer is released from their offer (please also check your spam folder).
5. Payment
- The buyer can choose from the payment methods currently offered at checkout (e.g. card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay). Card data are processed by the payment provider; the Seller has no access to them.
- The Seller does not charge any surcharge for the payment method.
- The invoice is issued electronically and sent by e-mail.
6. Delivery
- Shipping methods, costs and delivery times are set out in the Shipping policy.
- Unless otherwise agreed, the Seller delivers without undue delay and no later than 30 days after conclusion of the contract. If a product is unavailable, the Seller informs the buyer without delay and refunds any payment made within 30 days at the latest.
- For consumers, the risk passes when the goods are handed over to the buyer or a third party designated by them (other than the carrier).
- Please check the parcel on receipt; if there is visible damage, ask the courier to record it.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
- Consumers may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason.
- Withdrawal can be declared online without login on the “Withdraw from contract” page (online withdrawal function), or by e-mail, by post or using the model withdrawal form. The Seller acknowledges receipt, including the content of the notice and its date and time, without delay on a durable medium (by e-mail).
- Details (returns, refunds, exceptions, model form) are set out on the Withdrawal, returns and exchanges page, which forms part of these terms.
- Consumers may also return goods bought at a distance in person at our site in Törökbálint.
8. Warranty and guarantee
Statutory warranty (conformity). In the event of defective performance, the buyer may assert warranty claims under the Hungarian Civil Code and, for consumers, Government Decree 373/2021. The buyer may primarily request repair or replacement, unless this is impossible or disproportionate; otherwise a proportionate price reduction or, for a defect that is not minor, termination of the contract. Consumers may assert claims within 2 years of delivery; a defect that becomes apparent within 1 year of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery. For business customers the limitation period is 1 year.
Product liability (termékszavatosság). For defective goods, consumers may alternatively request repair or replacement from the manufacturer or importer within 2 years of the product being placed on the market; the consumer must prove the defect.
Mandatory guarantee under Hungarian law. For durable consumer goods covered by Government Decree 151/2021 (e.g. certain luminaires and electrical appliances), the Seller provides a guarantee of 2 years for a sale price of HUF 10,000–250,000 and 3 years for a sale price above HUF 250,000, from handover. The guarantee certificate is also provided electronically. If the consumer requests replacement within 3 working days of purchase (commissioning), the Seller will replace the product, provided the defect prevents its intended use. The consumer's statutory rights remain unaffected.
Warranty or guarantee claims can be made using the contact details in section 9. The Seller records the complaint in a report and carries out repair or replacement within 15 days where possible.
9. Complaints and remedies
- Complaints can be made by e-mail (landlite@landlite.eu), by phone (+36 23 511 460) or by post (Depó Raktárváros 27., Pf. 66., 2046 Törökbálint, Hungary).
- Oral complaints are remedied immediately where possible; otherwise a report is drawn up. The Seller replies to written complaints on the merits and in writing within 30 days of receipt, giving reasons for any rejection. Reports and replies are kept for 3 years.
- If the complaint cannot be resolved, the consumer may turn to:
- Conciliation body: Pest Vármegyei és Érdi Kereskedelmi és Iparkamara által működtetett Békéltető Testület, 1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint u. 25. IV/2., Hungary, phone: +36 1 792 7881, e-mail: pmbekelteto@pmkik.hu, web: panaszrendezes.hu. The Seller is obliged to cooperate in conciliation proceedings.
- Consumer protection authority: the competent county government office in Hungary (fogyasztovedelem.kormany.hu) or the consumer authority of your country of residence.
- Courts: the court competent under the rules of civil procedure.
- Consumers resident in other EU countries may contact the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net). The European Commission's ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
10. Data protection
The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy policy.
11. Copyright
The content of the shop (texts, photos, graphics, logos) is protected by copyright and may not be used without the Seller's prior written consent.
12. Business customers
Buyers who are not consumers have no right of withdrawal; their warranty claims become time-barred after 1 year. For businesses registered in another EU Member State with a valid VAT number, a VAT-exempt intra-Community supply may be applied if the statutory conditions are met.
13. Governing law, final provisions
Hungarian law applies, in particular Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code, Government Decree 45/2014 and Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection. For consumers, this choice of law does not deprive the consumer of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence. The Seller may amend these terms; amendments do not affect contracts already concluded.
